CHOOLWE'S STORY

From Lusaka to Mkushi to the United Kingdom to Brussels and eventually returning home to Zimba.

Choolwe was raised with two sisters and one brother in Lusaka. Choolwe is the last born son of Fairchild and Patricia Chibomba.

Inspired by his father Fairchild, who served for over 35 years at the National Assembly of Zambia as Deputy Clerk, Choolwe wishes to follow in the footsteps of his father in serving his country.

Choolwe was the Head of the Students Representative Council (SRC) in secondary school and was tasked in representing students and voicing their concerns. He was also made a prefect a year earlier for showing good leadership skills and setting a good example.

Choolwe was also an active member of the school basketball team, rugby team, Vice Captain of the school football team and House Captain for 3 years.

A graduate of Nkhwazi Primary School, Chengelo School and Politics with International Relations from University of Surrey, Choolwe has always had interest in serving his country and has supported causes that have affected rights of Zambian citizens.

During university Choolwe was asked to be a mentor to 56 other students for a year and
help them during their time at university.


During his studies, Choolwe completed his football and basketball coaching badge courses to understand the sports better. He also fulfilled one of his lifelong passions in doing radio and having a radio show for 5 years.

Choolwe has worked in the community in seeing how best to help underprivileged kids get back into a normal life with Flame orphanage in the past.

After Choolwe left his job in the United Kingdom, he decided to follow his dream and participate in shaping the future of Zambia. He joined the UPND campaign team under the leadership of Dipak Patel, the campaign manager.

Choolwe participated as part of a delegation that went to the European Parliament in Brussels and also Represented the United Nations in a 3 month moot with the focus on Climate Change which he is very passionate about.

Choolwe was active in President Hakainde Hichilema’s campaign team and always believed in the ethos and philosophy of the Party President.

In 2015 Choolwe became the football coach for a Sunday League team and has been
running it since then.

All this has led to Choolwe believing in bringing a youthful voice and contribute to the growth of the country by proposing new ideas, ideas that will bring needed policy change and laws with better checks and balances that will favour the Zambian people.
